Keoghs' Retail Team is seeking to recruit an Intermediate / Multi Track File Handler to manage a caseload of non-delegated Intermediate / Multi Track Employers' Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) claims.
This varied and rewarding role offers an excellent opportunity to join Keoghs' thriving Corporate Sector Risk Practice, working with a range of high-profile retail clients.
The successful candidate will predominantly handle a litigated caseload, while also managing a number of cases from the pre-litigation stage through to conclusion.
The role provides exposure to a diverse range of claims and excellent opportunities for professional development within a highly regarded and collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a mixed caseload of Employers' Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) claims, predominantly Intermediate / Multi Track typically valued between £25,000 and £100,000.
Assess liability, causation, and quantum, providing clear and commercially focused advice to clients.
Support the development of junior team members through supervision, mentoring, and coaching in line with Keoghs' Competency Frameworks, while contributing to financial authority audits.
Develop and implement effective case strategies to achieve the best possible outcomes, identifying areas requiring further investigation and evidence gathering.
Utilise the firm's Case Management System effectively to progress files efficiently from instruction through to conclusion.
Draft legal documentation, including Defences, witness statements, and other pleadings as required.
Attend court hearings, trials, settlement conferences, and other proceedings, either in person or remotely, as required.
Achieve individual and team performance targets, including chargeable hours, work in progress (WIP), and the accurate capture of client management information (MI).
Collaborate with colleagues across the wider business to ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality legal services to clients.
Maintain compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Code of Conduct and uphold the Keoghs Values in all aspects of the role.
