EYFS/KS1 SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary School

We are seeking a passionate SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant mainstream primary school. In this role, you will provide essential support to a student within the EYFS or KS1 stage, helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential in an inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs within an EYFS or KS1 classroom.
- Implement tailored learning strategies and interventions as directed by the class teacher and SENCO.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment that supports the student's academic and social development.
- Assist the student with classroom activities, helping them to engage fully with the curriculum.
- Monitor and track the student's progress through detailed observations and feedback.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external specialists to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to support.
- Adapt materials and teaching aids to meet the unique learning style and needs of the individual child.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning in schools (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
- Proven experience working as a 1:1 support assistant, ideally within an EYFS or KS1 setting.
- A strong understanding of SEN, including experience with specific learning difficulties or complex needs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children.
- A patient, proactive, and resilient approach to problem-solving.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
