We're looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our Building Services team based in Liverpool or London. Kier Design are a highly regarded Tier 1 Contractor, with a 750 plus strong design consultancy team, recognised as a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor.

Location: Liverpool or London
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
Salary: starting from £40,000 per year

Are you

  • A degree-qualified Electrical Building Services Engineer or Electrical Engineer with CIBSE or IET membership
  • A Chartered Engineer or working towards chartered status
  • Experienced in delivering electrical design solutions with demonstrable capability in this field
  • Highly knowledgeable in your discipline with excellent communication skills
  • Able to pass the BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) requirements

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be working within the Building Services team, supporting them in delivering exceptional electrical design solutions for large, complex construction projects.

You'll be at the forefront of delivering sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective design solutions from concept through to construction. Working collaboratively with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams, you'll bridge engineering expertise with client needs whilst driving innovation and excellence across high-value projects. This role offers the chance to shape standards, mentor colleagues, and make a real impact within a supportive and dynamic environment.

Your day to day will include:

  • Leading electrical design delivery, ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and Kier Design standards
  • Providing high-level technical advice and representing electrical engineering in project design meetings
  • Collaborating with clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective coordination
  • Promoting sustainable design solutions and driving innovation such as BIM implementation
  • Developing standards and best practice whilst mentoring colleagues across the business
